What manicures will be worn in 2023?

Another year, another review of the trends. We have to stay up to date with all the nail and makeup trends, but we know you also want to be very aware of what's trending on your nails. So, let's start 2023 off right and with perfect nails.

This year will be a mix of minimalism and maximalism. After the rise of the Y2K style and these two-thousand-dollar slump, color and even the most daring volumes will be transferred to nails. The French manicure will continue to be the most in-demand (classic or reinvented), and nudes and timeless colors like red will predominate in 2023.

1. Magenta, the Pantone color of the year 2023

Pantone always sets trends, and they nail them. This year, Viva Magenta is going to fill everything, from clothing, decor, and our nails. And the truth is, we love it!

2. XS French Manicure

French style never goes out of style; it reinvents itself, but this season, the minimalist version of this classic will be especially popular. It will look minimalist and elegant with any color.

3. Red, in all its shades

I know you're probably saying, "This isn't a trend." Yeah, but after the winter surge of orange-red, we can tell you it's a bit of a boom. We need a bit of a spark this year. And a gradient in various shades of red looks perfect.

4. Gold/Silver Details

This was already evident at the end of 2022, but this year we believe it will become even more pronounced heading into the summer and during the festival season. And it will be more visible in the details, rather than the entire nail.

5. Pearls

Ever since Hailey Bieber showed off her glazed nails and the entire internet went crazy for them, pearlescent colors have become a trend, becoming a staple in many fashion lines. So if you loved this effect, you're in luck.

6. Minimalist designs

We're seeing minimalism in color in fashion, and in times of austerity, society breathes minimalism in general. And since everything is a reflection of society, manicures are a bit of a reflection too.

7. Nail shapes: short or almond-shaped

In the spirit of minimalism and simplicity, the shape we'll be seeing most is the almond shape. Elegant, comfortable, and simple, it also flatters the hand. It's undoubtedly one of our favorite shapes.

8. Green

The color of hope. And if there's one thing we need in 2023, it's that. That's why it will be one of the colors we'll see most in nail and manicure lines. Emerald green, specifically, will be one of the most sought-after.

9. Nudes

This list goes from most colorful to least, and that's the mood we're in. Nude colors never go out of style, but we're seeing a lot of very understated styles, including baby boomer and milky nails. Anything understated is going to be a big trend.

10. Bare nails

And following what we said in the previous point... here comes the bare nail. After the trend of no-makeup makeup—that is, wearing makeup as if you weren't wearing makeup—comes the trend of wearing nails as if they weren't even done. And how do you do that? By lightly embellishing the natural nail with a coat of top coat to give it shine, or a little base coat to even out the color.
